Science for Pre-K, “Science with Fred,” turns children into enthusiastic researchers who go on a journey to discover. Various experiments are embedded into stories following Fred, an inquisitive forest ant. From time to time, he sets out to familiarize himself with the environment. Many ideas and questions come to mind, such as “Why does an apple turn brown?”16 Impulse cards, with a story in each, tell of Fred’s adventures, ending with a question that leads children to an experiment.
